This survey was about the use of technology in residential real estate sales. This survey revealed that 77 percent of the respondents wanted a virtual reality home tour before ever visiting a home. The desire for this is easily understood. Having a virtual tour would save you time and money as the buyer. Finding a house is stressful enough without driving all over town. 84 percent said they would love to see video footage of homes before ever setting foot in them, and 62 percent said they would be more likely to pick a real estate agent who offered virtual reality home tours.
Apparently, technology is a leading factor in the buying and selling of products. As consumers get used to technology and its advantages they expect the business professionals of the world to use that technology too. In the survey mentioned above, 32 percent of those who responded said they had smart home technology in their home. In 2016, only 24 percent of home buyers used smart home technology. This means there is a 33 percent year over year increase in the use of smart home products. With consumers using this technology on an everyday basis to be without it is to tell consumers you aren’t in touch with today’s world.
These virtual reality tours are a perfect opportunity for real estate agencies to provide internet marketing. Not only can it increase a realtor’s chance of gaining a client as shown in the survey above, but it will also save the realtor time by weeding out anyone who isn’t seriously interested in that specific house.
